USGS WaterAlert

A new service from the U.S. Geological Survey — the USGS WaterAlert — will send you a text or email on water levels from any of the survey’s 7,000 real-time stream gauges around the country. You can set the alerts for when conditions are above a value, below a value, and between or outside a range of values. The service is free and if you can also be alerted on water quality, temperature, and more.

Researchers to use robots to track invasive carp....

Researchers at the U, Johns Hopkins University and Central State University in Ohio have been awarded $2.2 million from the National Science Foundation to develop robotic boats and program them to track radio-tagged carp as part of a new approach to controlling their numbers.
