Could the future of fishing rods be triangular?

After 30 years of making prosthetic hearts and artificial blood vessels fly-fishing physicist Dr. Chris Underwood realised he could adapt the same technology to develop his D-Flex rod technology

D-Flex’ technology allows the manufacture of rods with an over-emphasised ‘spine’, meaning they are significantly stiffer bending one way than the other.

According to Underwood, the D-Flex cross section reduces stress loading, making casting control easier, more accurate and significantly more powerful, and can be used to make rods for fly fishing, spinning, waggler fishing, distance casting and even pole fishing.

Tagged Marlin Travels 2225 Miles in 94 Days

Eight marlin were tagged back in July during the Hawaiian International Billfish Tournament. All the tagged marlin were then entered in the Great Marlin Race.

A tag that had been placed on a marlin 94 days prior off the coast of Hawaii popped up down by the Marquesas Islands in French Polynesia, a distance of 2,225 nautical miles.

Jon Schwartz's Blog has the entire story. LINK
