On my recent trip to Christmas Island someone told me a story about Moana's wading boots that had seaweed growing out of the tongue because they never dried.
Here is a link to a 2012 Cleanest Line post about those very same boots.
Now there's two words you don't often see together in the same sentence.

Audubon types, we're fully aware the image above is not of a falcon but that of a red tail hawk.
The December 2013 edition of the official newsletter of the Wild Steelhead Coalition.
This month's feature story is a chapter from Sean Gallagher's two-volume book, Wild Steelhead: The Lure and Lore of a Pacific Northwest Icon. Wild River Press provided the WSC a sneak-peek at Chapter Eight, an interview with wild steelhead advocate Bill McMillan. You'll get a glimpse into McMillan's early angling days, a first-hand account of a steelhead McMillan caught in 1961, and the meat of the chapter: how native winter-run steelhead can be restored to Puget Sound, most notably the Skagit River basin.
Good stuff.
