Take Action: Honor Three Great Oregon Rivers

From the Native Fish Society:

The Oregon Department of Parks and Recreation (OPRD) is currently accepting public comment on their 2014 Scenic Waterways Assessment, which is the first step in designating segments of the Molalla, Chetco and Grande Ronde rivers into the state's network of Scenic Waterways.

Take action now by sending the Oregon Department of Parks and Recreation a comment showing your support for the addition of three great Oregon Rivers into the state’s network of Scenic Waterways.

Your voices were heard - mining company denied water from the Smith

Some good news regarding that proposed nickel mine at the headwaters of the Smith river, one of the crown jewels of the National Wild and Scenic River program.

The Oregon Water Resources Department has denied the application from the Red Flat Nickel Corp, in part due to the overwhelming substantive comments they received from you, the public, and public trust agencies.

Fighting Goliath

The goal of this campaign is to protect the beautiful Lochsa and Clearwater rivers of north central Idaho from the oil industry and tar sands-bound “megaload” traffic on U.S. Highway 12. These two rivers were among the first protected by the federal Wild & Scenic Rivers Act in 1968.
