Fly Fishing Artwork

Richard Kolodny creates works of art by framing flies, drawings of fish and maps of rivers in a shadow box. Kolodny teamed up with James Carter, a renowned New England artist to create the trout images and he re-creates the river maps in pen and ink style on antique parchment paper.

The "Anglers Collection" features a river map, two trout images, and three shadow boxed flies. The "Streamside Collection" features a river map, a single trout image and two shadow boxed flies.

Fresh Art - Bragging Rights Portraits

When my good friend and artist Mike Savlen asked me if he could grab a personal photo for a project he was working on, little did I know what he had planned. Needless to say we were totally blown away after seeing how he transformed one of our favorite fish images into a personal piece of art.

Normally Mike has only agreed to paint portraits of people and fish for close friends and family, but he is now offering it to the general public. If you would be interested in having a favorite photo of yours painted contact Mike, or click here for more info.

Fishy Kid

Fishy Kid was inspired by two fathers who enjoy the sport of fly fishing and want to do our part in passing along the virtues of the outdoors to our children as well as to families within the online angling community.

Fishy Kids is brought to you through a collaboration of sporting artists, writers, educators, and a growing list of fly fishing manufactures. Many of the artists featured here on the Chum have donated their talents to the  fly themed coloring book that you can download for young anglers. A coloring contest for kids age 1 - 17 is also a part of the Fishy Kid initiative
