A Lancetfish was found in Nags Head on a beach south of Jennette’s Pier.
The fish was released after being photographed.

A Dutch tourist fishing in eastern Germany reeled in an unusual catch this weekend -- a World War II-era Panzerfaust anti-tank shell.

Possible World Record Tarpon Caught and Released
Four anglers fishing with Florida captain Justin Moore landed a monster tarpon last week that could have broken the world record. Drew Denick, Ron Joyce, and Jeremy and Jan Tombl chartered a boat with Moore for a day of tarpon fishing on the Gulf of Mexico.
Tarpon was approx. 96-inches long with a 53-inch girth which would put it in the 300 pound range. The current world record is 286 pounds.

Slab of the Month - 25 Kilo Blowfish
Five fishermen in Florida spotted a large bale floating in the ocean and pulled it into their boat. They called law enforcement who cut it open and proclaimed that it was 25 kilos of cocaine with an estimated value of $2.5 million.

A Pennsylvania doctor on a guided fishing trip with Four Rivers Fishing Company in southwestern Montana went home with an amazing tale of hauling in a 25-pound lunker — a baby moose she helped rescue from a rushing river.
