Photo:Dave McCoy

Dave McCoy of Emerald Water Anglers was back in Hawaii shooting some photos to finish up an upcoming article he was working on and had a life altering bonefish experience.

Things are warming up in FLA

The 2nd Annual Maverick/Backcountry Slam Fly Tournament is a fly only tournament targeting redfish, snook and trout with a slam format (winning team catches biggest three of all species). Meant more for fun than competition and with a low entry fee, the event will include a post fishing raffle with tackle and items provided by The Backcountry, a fly fishing retailer located in Vero Beach. The 2010 March Merkin Invitational Permit Tournament is slated for March 15-18 in Key West. All proceeds of the tournament after direct expenses will go 50/50 to Don Hawley Foundation and Bonefish & Tarpon Trust. Capt. Will Bensen of World Angling fame guided the winning team last year.  LINK
