Oregon to buy 10,000 acres on lower Deschutes River

The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife is moving to buy more than 10,000 acres to add to a wildlife area on the lower Deschutes River.

The area will be opened to the public to hike, hunt and fish.

Judge rules in favor of public access on Weber River

Judge Keith Kelly of Utah's 3rd District Court ruled in favor of the Utah Stream Access Coalition and confirmed that the Weber River is navigable where it crosses over the landowner defendant's properties.

New Mexico stream access is now privatized

This sucks.

Gov. Susana Martinez has signed into law a measure aimed at strengthening current state regulations restricting the ability of anglers to fish and wade New Mexico waters on private property.

Utah Legislature Punts

HB37 and HB233 are dead in Rules Committee.

Despite a robust grassroots effort, the Utah Legislature won’t act on stream access this year and will wait to see what the courts rule before deciding whether to bring the issue back to Capitol Hill.
