Hey Dillhole,
Way to post a link to an artist that's been butchering fish. I'm particularly fond of the 30 lb or so permit he impaled with a spear gun. Brilliant!
To "Got a clue",
My rebuttal. You seem to have your facts a little misconstrued. True, I do choose to harvest my fish by impaling them with a speargun as my father did. I find it brings me much closer to nature leaving the safety of a boat and swimming through the barracuda and sharks to select dinner. I live on the West Coast of Florida, North of Tampa Bay, where it is perfectly legal to harvest Permit by spear in Federal waters, just 9 miles offshore, we are allowed to keep 1 over 22" per person or 2 over 22" per boat, I enjoy them stuffed with crab meat. I also do not use tanks and have not for well over a decade, I went past 70 feet on a single breath to take the large fish you are referring to. I work a full time job and limited to being a recreational fisherman, usually only out on weekends, when the weather cooperates. Recreational harvest limits with limited time out probably doesn't make me a huge factor on our ecosystem, but keeps me legal. Although I do technically "butcher" my own catch, I also do all the preparation and cooking of the fish I harvest and present to my friends and family at our dinner table. I do not fish for sport, I hunt for food.
I can appreciate a differ in taste when it comes to art, but I can not respect someone who does not have a holistic view of the subject matter in it's entirety. On your post you disrespectfully address the Webmaster as "Dillhole" while posting anonymously, says a lot about your character. Please have all of your facts straight before you decide to post such vicious slander on the Internet simply based on your personal hang-ups, ignorance, or a sheer lack of confidence in the water or in life.
Sincerely,
Frank Alfano
