We're putting the band back together
Other than the slight logistical problem that Mexican taquerias use lard instead of veggie oil, AND there is a 50/50 chance they'll end up decapitated in the bottom of some Chiapas mine shaft, this promises to be one helluva journey.
MOTIV Fishing is a new name for some familiar faces. Following the success of their past productions, former AEG Media founders, Brian Jill and Chris Owens, have teamed up once again with Thad Robison and Jay Johnson to create a new adventure series, GEOFISH.
Starting in October of 2010, GEOFISH will follow the exploits of these four anglers as they embark on an 8,000 mile overland adventure across the rugged landscapes of Mexico. Utilizing a diesel truck converted to run on vegetable oil, the GEOFISH crew will travel down Mexico's remote Baja coastline, ferry across the Sea of Cortez, and continue their overland fly fishing journey along the Pacific Coast eventually reaching the turquoise waters of the Yucatan Peninsula.
Read more about the GEOFISH expedition at Motiv Fishing.
You will be able top follow the exploits of the GEOFISH crew on their Facebook page or at their blog which has logged their first expedition post.

hmm, start band, kick original lead singer out after letting him plan trip to Mongolia, pull off one so-so trip to Canada, sell out , drag up on investor, restart with same cats under a different name doing the same trip Felt Soul/ Smethurst did a few year back = wtf ever in my book.
yes!!!!!!!!!!!! finally!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the crew is back together!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!high quality fish porn once again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Low Ethical,
I am with ya..... WTF.
Great news. Other then Felt Soul, these guys are the only ones who have made films that tell a real story. Love the adventure, and makes me want to go to Patagonia and New Zealand and bum around for a few months. Maybe someday.
smethurst is a tool. What do you expect when you invest in a bunch of guys who tag themselves as fish bums. Upstanding gentlemen with profits in mind? I'm not saying that what they did/are doing is right but I am saying that anybody should see it coming.
That said, I wish I was on this trip. It sounds more fun than having to look at Smethurst's nut duster for 4 months while he rides around in an Airstream listening to whatever horrible noise is most likely on his Ipod.
