Long Live the King
Sunday, March 7, 2010 at 12:01AM
Elfish the King was created by artist and designer Debra Dubrac as part of the 2004 Anchorage Wild Salmon on Parade Festival. Wild Salmon on Parade is an annual festival where artists and designers transform salmon into artistic creations to help raise awareness about the plight of salmon and ther habitat. The artistic salmon are put on dislplay around downtown Anchorage before being auctioned off at the end of the festival as a benefit for local organizations.
The festival will be taking a break in 2010 but you can still view the galleries of entries from the last 6 years at the organizers web site. LINK
