The mood inside was bright

Dick enjoys some salmon fishing on the Klamath - Courtesy of the AMFF Cheney Collection

Up until now there have been no reports from the American Museum of Fly Fishing Dinner where everyone's favorite fly angler Dick Cheney was the special guest. Ted Williams has just posted some stomach churning excerpts from The American Fly Fisher, a publication of the American Museum of Fly Fishing.

“…a Grand Hyatt ballroom was filled with enthusiastic museum supporters gathered to welcome ardent fly fisherman and former two-term vice president Richard B. “Dick” Cheney. The mood inside was bright...”

“…His familiar reticence gave way to gleaming eyes and bright smiles as he discussed the people and places of fly fishing…

Read the rest of the excerpts and Ted's commentary on his blog at Fly Rod and Reel.

Nobody gives a rats ass what you think about yet another "fly fishing museum" . Stick to your little hat, tshirt and movie biz that maybe 100 people will see and even fewer will give a shit about.

Looks like a chord was struck. One douchebag with his panties in a bunch about one of the biggest douchebags.

Keep up the good work Chum

Fly fishing with a babbering liberal is very much like making love to a blabbering beautiful woman. It is best to insert your Dick in her face, then everyone is happy and you can continue to enjoy the experience.

I agree. Shut the fuck up about Cheney already...If Obama and his radical, socialist, lefties could have their way you can kiss all recreational fishing and hunting good bye.

February 18, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterSilver

how about all of you shut the fuck up. cheney's a fuckface, obama's a fuckface, and you, my friend are a fuckface. shut up about shutting up, and drink your fucking chai tea.

The REAL Ted Williams, the ball player, Marine pilot and sportsman, most likely would have been a fishing and hunting buddy of Cheney's. This ted williams he probably would have bitch slapped for sharing his name.

You know I thought Cheney was a pretty big DB.......Until I saw Biden on TV the night of the opening ceremonies for the Olympics. I think he's got Cheney beat. Biden takes old, greasy douche bag to a new level.

Middleman,
Alright, that was pretty funny. Fuck chai tea. That stuff tastes like shit.

What are you, some kind of fucking hippie or some fat assed middle age, woman who can be sold anything they're told won't make their ass fat if they buy it. Its true, you really can sell women anything.

"Several attendees had the opportunity to engage in pleasant conversation with Mr. Cheney".... I'm surprised Cheney didn't use his trade mark "Go fuck yourself! " when approached.

Goes to show he must be mellowing in his retirement!

Talking to republicans is like talking to your fridge, you open the door, the light goes on. You close the door the light goes off. The only difference is at least a fridge save important things for the future. Oh and it keeps my beer cold.........

Dick is a dick, the only way he should be on a river is face-down in it! The biggest scumbag in recent history! If you like him you should fuck off too. He and is administration did more damage to the environment, America's reputation abroad, and killed more innocent people than any previous administration ever has. Oh yeah Paul Wolfowitz can join him in the river face-down also...

Wow, testy comments today. Thanks, chum, for posting this! At least a few of us recognize the irony. Cheney may enjoy the act of fishing, but anyone willing to sell out our fish and wildlife to energy interests--as Cheney did--isn't much of an angler so far as I can tell.

To silver and others;
Maybe you didn't realize that Obama was responsible for designating 1,100 miles of river as wild and scenic in his first 3 months of presidency. While Cheney's tenure did things like allow legislation to go through that could allow the Pebble Mine and other mining operations on our hunting and fishing land. As far as I've seen, Obama has done nothing but help our hunting and fishing rights. Do your homework before making ridiculous ignorant statements.

Herb,

Getting a freaking clue. What has he down with damns (Snake river to name one)??? He pretty much did nothing and extended some of Bush's policies. I know when he campaigned he wanted everyone to believe he was Jesus and he was going to save the world. But look at us now buddy.
Jesus he's not!

There you go Herb. Tell your boys in Washington to make some changes. Maybe that 1100 miles of river was the "change" he was telling us all about? Funny.

Drink your Chai Tea or Coffee just as long as you aren't drinkin all the bullshit these assholes are pouring in your cup. They all suck but all we can do is hope that one sucks less than the other and will do the right thing. So why don't one of you run for political office? FUCK EM' ALL. Just remember that catch and release prolongs our future of fishing, unless it's a hatchery, sometimes.

"Fuck Cheney. Being a fly fishing repub is like being that certain kind of priest whos been in the news a lot lately."

Yet it's just been revealed that Sen Feinstein is trying to do an end run to allow farming and industrial interests in CA to remove as much water from streams and rivers as they like.

Do you get out of the house much? You might find that in the real world your prejudices don't work out all that well.
