The mood inside was bright
Dick enjoys some salmon fishing on the Klamath - Courtesy of the AMFF Cheney Collection
Up until now there have been no reports from the American Museum of Fly Fishing Dinner where everyone's favorite fly angler Dick Cheney was the special guest. Ted Williams has just posted some stomach churning excerpts from The American Fly Fisher, a publication of the American Museum of Fly Fishing.
“…a Grand Hyatt ballroom was filled with enthusiastic museum supporters gathered to welcome ardent fly fisherman and former two-term vice president Richard B. “Dick” Cheney. The mood inside was bright...”
“…His familiar reticence gave way to gleaming eyes and bright smiles as he discussed the people and places of fly fishing…

At the end of the day the left in this country will align itself with the most extreme forms of environmentalism. I would rather go fishing with dick cheney, a guy who probably killed a few fish with some of his administrations decisions, than ever wet a line with some pinko commie from the sierra club.
This is not about Obama, Feinstein or Bush. It is about linking Cheney's politics and policies to the American Fly Fishing Museum. It is also about whether Cheney is a good steward of conservation and fishing. Open your eyes and you will see that partnering with Cheney does nothing for the resource and is a slap in the face to all of those people who truly fight to protect the resource. I'm sure that Cheney will always have protected private water to fish, but he doesn't give a shit about public water where most of us spend our time. When Obama, Feinstein or Bush are linked in the same way we can have this conversation about them.
Two things:
1) Cheney's tenure in government has been disastrous to conservation efforts.
2) Slint was a great band.
Fuck this (blog).
Fuck the AMFF I'm slinging bait!
nice post Richard. Except that Bush and Cheney put that whole program in effect. So you're contradicting yourself. If Obama didnt have to spend his whole presidency cleaning up their mistakes, he might have time to worry about your salmon.
By the way Richard, are you aware that Cheney was responsible for lifting the ban on drilling and mining in the entire bristol bay region? You wont need to worry about your precious snake river when those mines wipe out the entire salmon population. The fact that you are backing up the least environmentaly friendly presidency in the history of America speaks volumes about your intelligence. feel free to reply when you get that cock out of your mouth
Herb,
Cheney and Bush are DB's. I know this. I am not a Cheney/Bush fan All I am saying is Obama hasn't done much. He had the opportunity but didn't take it. He's just as much a DB as the previous administration. Don't come on here touting Obama. I mean the article you posted was cute about Obama protecting rivers. In the article the rivers under "Idaho" 95% aren't even fishable. I piss a stronger stream.
Herb,
I take back all previous comments about Obama. Maybe Obama will somehow get heath care for all fish too. :)
"If Obama didnt have to spend his whole presidency cleaning up their mistakes, he might have time to worry about your salmon"
HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!! Like what, bowing down to our enemies and some how trying to fix ACORN?
More Kool Aid!!
Jesus some of you are lost....
Why dont all of you whinny little biches wake up and realize that you elected both of these administrations and then turned around and and smiled as the they fucked you and the things that you love most. Its to late to recycle. Enjoy jacking eachother off.
"Yet it's just been revealed that Sen Feinstein is trying to do an end run to allow farming and industrial interests in CA to remove as much water from streams and rivers as they like."
I'd be more impressed if you didn't just read that one click away on this blog. Yes there are exceptions but the fact of the matter is that the overwhelming majority of policy that has benefited fish and fish habitat has been championed by the left and undermined by people like Dick Cheney. Maybe you care more about property rights, taxes, or what gay people are allowed to do, but don't kid yourself: your killing fish with your vote.
Being a politician is very much like trying to have sex with a beutiful woman at the bar. You must dance, and say nice things, and smile, and buy her drinks, and seem interested in her, and do many many more things to make you seem appealing. Then you have the sex and afterwards you leave satisfied with yourself.
Politicians are the epitomy of self satisfaction. They're all d-bags. This is why you should never trust a politician, just like the beutiful woman should never expect to marry the guy she met at the bar. The politician just wants to get elected. The guy at the bar just wants to have the sex.
Damn Tony. That was beautiful. Tears are rolling down my cheeks. Well said. But one thing when I go to a bar it's all about the girls feelings not just sex. He he.
