Fly Fishing for Monster Wild Bows in Georgia from Bent Rod Media on Vimeo.
It's like Suzanne Summers at fat camp. Proof that Georgia does have hoppertunities.

F**KING AWESOME!!!!!
Who'd a thought? Well done!!!
quality video but not a chance those are wild fish. I do not know why brm feels the need to add wild to every trout they catch...
really?
varsity fly fishing
WILD is defined as: in a natural state; not tamed or domesticated or cultivated
i don't shoot tame animals and i dont catch tame trout. I have heard about these places in GA and they piss me off. All these yuppies go up there and catch some monsters, bring these pictures home and tell everyone they are master fly fishermen while the rest of us are killing ourselves to catch the real deal. What they don't show you is that these fish are fed and farmed for people to catch, take a picture of and release.
I WONDER IF THEY TAKE THE HOPPER AS A PELLET.... they seem to do that on my stocked pond often.....weak sauce. i dont want to see mutants caught i want to see the big browns
pay to play fishing=lame, country club bullshit.
Come on guys the rich have to have a place to play to.... Remember the next time you go out and catch a stocker on your public water and take a picture of it.. Same shit!
Greenboat, and WG. I tell you what, go to this place take me some pictures of feeders, and farmed trout and I will give each one of you a thousand dollars. What you will find is totaly different. Call it what you want, but most of those fish are wild.
NCF is the real deal, not some lame attempt at a fish farm. Noontootla Creek has wild fish in it. It just so happens this section is a private one that they manage like a trophy deer camp.
No feeders there, I have fished it for years. its funny how people associate a private section with pellet hogs and rich yuppies.
Did it ever occur to some of you that this is how some guides make their living. To each their own, but some of you are dead wrong.
FO
BRM, good job guys, great camera work etc.
I hear ya,
Lots of opinions on this one... thanks to those who love and hate it. We can't please everyone. And we figured this would bring some opinionated comments. But hey, everyone is entitled to their opinion.
This is a promo vid we shot for Reel Job Fishing. www.kent-klewein.com .
Contrary to what most think, it is the real deal. We were skeptical ourselves. But we were mistaken to say the least.
The fields were loaded with hoppers, and the fish were keyed on them. Wild, Stocked, Mutant, etc, you just don't see that kinda of hopper action here in the South. So regardless of the location, it was still a killer day.
This is the same place the Fly-Fishing Masters was filmed a few years back.
Hey Greenboat, since you are a master fly fisherman, and only catch huge wild fish (never any stockers), I was wondering if I could take lessons?
Sweet video work guys !
interviews were super lame. how long did it take you to come up with those gay sayings. there is no why that they were not scripted. lame. also did i see a indicator on one of those guys line. week yankee shit. everybody wants to be a star in America hey.
Hey Canada f--k off....
I think you must have misread my post. I know I'm not a master fly fisherman. I'd give myself 6/10 at very best. However, I do know what it feels like to get skunked repeatedly while trying to teach myself to fish out of books from the library. I also know how it is to watch a river for weeks at a time waiting for conditions then skipping work on the first day they're right. I know how it is to figure out what music would be best suited for cranking out dozens of flies for a planned trip, and not using any because the hatch didn't come off right. Finally I know how it when some fairweather fisherman brings in pictures from a pay to fish place and tells me he has figured out fly fishing and tells me how big the fish he caught were after 2 days one of these rivers and a casting lesson in the parking lot of the fly shop right before getting in some guides truck to go out here. And how he doesn't see what the big deal with fly fishing is and that golf is much tougher.
Also I bet most people would agree with me on most of this stuff and no one likes getting talked down to by someone who doesn't have a clue but went to some private river.
Yo Greenboat,
No worries bro. We are not those guys by any means. To be honest this was our first time on a private water. It just so happens this water isn't a pellet farm. Yeah its private, but it has been managed for several decades. There just so happens to have some outstanding terrestrial fishing. Plus the habitat management is second to none, and could be a model for surrounding streams.
This is a promo, not the next destination film, so please don't think that. However we do feel your pain about the yups that fish a private water, Delayed Harvest, or stocked stream and think they know all.
But like mentioned before, these waters all have there place in our fishy little world. And its places like this that keep Guides and Outfitters employed. And a lot of the people that would pay for this have limited schedules and don't have the time to explore and fish on their own. Which means it keeps them out of our hair on public water.
A ton of Georgia and North Carolina private "trophy trout" thats marketed as wild fish but really are stocked twice a year with way more fish than is suitable for the stream, combined with heavy feeding of pellets generally on a day to day basis has totally screwed over places like NCF who do it the right way. Believe me, the trophy trout, stocked, private pellet water pisses me off too guys. Hell I used to have to guide on it because I couldn't convince my clients to go after smaller wild fish. That was before I was introduced to NCF. The fact is NCF is in no way shape or form anything like the fake streams I mentioned above. NCF just happens to be a place that is located around streams like this.
NCF doesn't try to build a dynamite trout fishery through pellets, it instead has taken the approach to create it from the bottom up. That means dumping in limestone rock to lower the PH and promote healthy bug life, improve its trout habitat on property to provide better trout lies and increase oxygen levels. It plants trees along the banks and has planted CRP buffers to eliminate stream runoff. It discourages stocking fish to maintain the pure genetics in the trout and promote natural reproduction. All of these conservation efforts you will not find on any of the other private water in the south. That's what makes NCF special.
The corn fields and other crops that are planted outside of the buffers generate huge populations of terrestrials that find their way into the stream during the warmer months, and the fish key in and gorge on them. It's absolutely a unique and awesome trout stream that I think everyone should fish at some point. I've never had a unhappy customer, with most thanking me to steer them away from the boggus trophy trout water and open their eyes to what real management can produce.
Improving habitat is done all over the country. TU has it in their mission statement. So guys, please try to ponder this for a second and give a little props to BRM for doing a stand up job with the film and choosing a place like NCF to film instead of the other twenty BS trophy trout streams in the area. They are great guys who are as real as they come, just like many of you chum members and viewers.
I respect this site and all who help keep it running. It so makes my morning enjoyable to see the latest posts. Great work Guys!
Yes, I guide on this river, but I promise any one who comes to fish with me at NCF will have the time of their life. Especially during hopper season.

No way that stagnant, silt laden, lil' cattle creek could rear or even sustain trophy fish. I don't care if Poseidon himself were "managing" it. Which is exactly why they hit those hoppers "... like suzanne somers at fat camp..." THEY ARE STARVING!!! Hell, I even saw a one of those O2 deprived bows totin' a green card under his pect. Wonder where that shanghaied fish was actually from? Hey..... Georgia .....Bull.... Dawgs. Get real. Focus on bass, inshore, and football. God knows the latter could use sum "managing".
"anyone who doesn't know how to catch a fish, should not be able to disgrace a fish by catching it". (Addition).... "especially if your a wanna be douche bag surfer dude." ~ yours truly
I fish the public (upper) section of the Toot regularly and it produces a few 18 to 20 inch bows and browns yearly, all of which are wild or "stream born". The public section of the Noontootla has not been stocked since the 1970's. I dont know much about NCF, I have heard great things, but whether they are wild or not, I dont know.
Nice video though, makes me want to go fish it!
This is too funny....It looks like us Southern Boys have been mistaken for Surfers and D-bags... Nice !!
First of all I want to say to everyone who thinks this video is bullshit, I'm sorry we all don’t live out west and have the great fishing opportunities you have with so many great fisheries and feel that its necessary to make fun and rag on people who want to catch nice fish, you are the type of people who give fly fishing a bad rep. Greenboat you seem like the guy who likes to find the negative in everything and who are you to say what people can and can not do when its comes to flyfishing? and eh canada go fuck yourself
The only douche bag I see... is a guy named Andy C.
and the Sauce thickens!!!!
