Becky Patterson has the inside scoop as to when the tarpon will be arriving in the Boca Grande Pass. On her property sits a royal poinciana tree that blooms right around the arrival the tarpon every season. She has another name for the plant, the tarpon tree.

Fins Across Florida

“Fins Across Florida: Tampa Bay Tarpon” will consist of approximately 50 uniquely decorated fiberglass Tarpon displayed throughout the Tampa Bay Area.

Individual Tarpon will be sponsored by local businesses and individuals and decorated by local artists. In November of 2011, all the Tarpon will be auctioned off at a gala event at the Sirata Beach Resort and Conference Center.
