Sept Slab of the Month Entry: Southeast Alaska Coho

The Douglas Island Pink and Chum Salmon Hatchery (DIPAC) employees flew up Taku River near Juneau Alaska to collect wild coho broodstock for the hatchery.  And wild broodstock coho did Shawn Haase find.

Sept. SOTM is alarmingly shocking...

Sept Slab of the Month Entry: Norwegian Pollack

It's official.  There is literally and figuratively something in the Netherlands water.  If you've been paying close attention the last 6 months on the Chum - the Dutch are commanding a global respect for an extraordinary level of fishiness.  The Chum invites the rest of the world to represent.

Here's the entry email as we received it:

Hi  ,

On our one week saltwater flyfishing trip to mid-Norway , this was one of many pollack we caught (this one is de largest we caught...can be a Norwegian record on fly tackle , but can't find any info about that on the internet). Doesn't matter though , it's a monster , it was a great fight and moment , and it's swimming the Norwegian fjords again. My fishingbuddy Eric van de Berg was the lucky angler.

Good one for slab of the month September i think.
