Hey Chum,
I was fishing for black rockfish across Shellikof Straight from Kodiak island with my 6wt sage one. I threw a few casts and caught some palm sized black rockfish. A swell pushed the boat too close to the bank so I left my line in the water and started the motor to pull away, as soon as I put the motor in gear I felt a hard yank and turned back to see a massive halibut where my fly should have been. Two and a half hours later I had it on the beach, and shortly after that I ate her cheeks and washed it down with some Rainier. Probably be one of my most interesting fly rod fish of my life!!
