One spot remaining for 4th annual Chum Field Trip: Baja - May 30th - June 4th

Justin Crump: manhandling a big rooster

Comfy beach house - 100 feet from cruising jacks and roosters

Sight fish from your patio

run down the man from your front door

Join us on Baja’s East Cape for some of the most exciting fishing Mexico has to offer with Justin Crump, Kate Taylor and The Reel Baja group. We will be staying in a comfortable beach house near the safe and friendly village of Los Barriles and enjoying 4 days of guided fishing and 5 nights of lodging.

We'll attack Baja in a few ways:

In-Shore Hunt (two days): Two days will be spent in panga boats targeting numerous in-shore species, such as Rooster Fish, Jack Crevelle, Bonita, Lady Fish, Sierra and host of others. If conditions permit, there is an opportunity to go off shore to chase Striped Marlin, Sailfish, Dorado and Tuna.

Beach Patrol (two days): Two days will be spent rolling ATV's on the beaches primarily in search of GRANDE Rooster Fish and Jack Crevelle. Challenging and rewarding - fish in the 30 to 50 pound range are a reality. Worldclass.

Afternoon/Evenings in front of the beach house (every day): After our panga and beach day trips, afternoons and evenings present an amazing fishery for small to medium sized roosterfish right in front of the beach house.

Details:

  • May 30th - June 4th
  • All home-cooked meals and lodging provided
  • Beer, cocktails, bottled water and soda provided
  • Airport Transfers included (airfare to Cabo San Lucas not included)
  • All equipment provided, including rods, reels, flies and live chum
  • Afternoon/evening Baja fly tying sessions for those who can pull themselves away from the beach

Special Chum Price: $1900 per angler (based upon double occupancy) with a maximum of 8 anglers at the beach house. Additional days can be arranged.

We'd love you to join us!  Send us a note here if you'd like to chat more about this unique experience.

Best Fishing on the Snake in a Generation

A fish count on the South Fork of the Snake River last fall showed more than 5,177 fish per mile, the second-highest number recorded since the mid-1980s.

The increasing fish counts can be ascribed to good water years and last year’s high water kept some anglers off the water and made fishing difficult when flows finally subsided.

Biologists are also continuing their work to minimize the rainbow trout population which competes with the native cutthroat.
