The first-place prize money remains in limbo

Remember the story of the fishing crew who caught the million dollar marlin in the 2010 Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament but were disqualified due to a crew member not having a valid fishing license? Well they sued, and now the case is is headed to the North Carolina Supreme Court.

Economic Costs of Overfishing on Recreational Fisheries

The Southeast sustained tens of millions of dollars in economic losses during a five-year period because years of overfishing depleted species led to fewer recreational fishing trips, according to an analysis commissioned by the Pew Environment Group.

IGFA updates rules to encourage all-release tournaments

Couldn't he just bought them out of a vending machine like everyone else? 

Police in Kobe on Thursday arrested a man who allegedly used a fishing rod from his 3rd floor apartment balcony to steal underwear from the balcony of the apartment below.

Police said that Higuchi used a fishing line measuring 4.3 meters on the end of which was a multi-pointed tool that had been hand-made by tying four fishing hooks together with string. Higuchi lowered the line and the hook snagged a clothes hanger on which the woman’s laundry was drying.
