Setsuo Hamanaka was born in 1956 in Yokohama, Japan. While in high school he learned a basic drawing and painting from a sculptor but never had an academic art education. In 2001, he began oil painting marine wildlife, primarily focusing on salt water game fish.

George Schelling started his professional career in the mid fifties illustrating for advertising agencies in New Jersey. By 1963 his wildlife paintings were being exhibited by Abercrombie and Fitch and other galleries that specialized in wildlife art in New York City. George's subject matter ranges from hunting and fishing scenes, wildlife, rural settings, seascapes, old buildings and whatever else he imagines or finds interesting.
