The salmon are back in record numbers in Toronto's Humber River. Here, this sport fisherman battles with a roughly 25 pound Atlantic salmon just north of The Old Mill on Bloor Street.
Global warming may be putting a freeze on Atlantic salmon sex. Fishing records from anglers on 59 Norwegian rivers show that more and more salmon are staying out at sea for two or more winters - instead of one - before migrating back upriver to mate.

After 45 years of raising Atlantic salmon in New England for a four-state effort to restore the fish to the Connecticut River, the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service is moving out of the salmon hatchery business.
The move comes due to a lack of recovery and the low numbers returning to the river.
