Meanwhile on the Olympic Peninsula...

The retention of wild steelhead continues. Take a minute and ask yourself why it's so important for some to keep this up.

I stepped back. I thought. And I realized...It's probably the same reason that you continue to objectify women on a fly-fishing website: these guys don't know any better, and simply put, it's just normal for them and nothing will ever teach them otherwise. It's very similar: their masculinity is tied to it, just like yours is tied to objectifying women. It's a part of normal, everyday life for them. So, really, it's in YOUR hands. You can be the first one to take a positive step and set a good example by ending a behavior that offends people, and maybe others will follow suit by changing behaviors that are wrong and bother you. But, if you're too much like them, you'll probably continue to think that nothing is wrong with your behavior and it's other people who are wrong, out of touch, or better yet, radical.

Have you ever stepped back and thought really hard about your own behavior?
