Carpocalypse
Thursday, March 7, 2013 at 12:00AM
A 20-pound bighead Asian carp has been caught just six miles from Lake Michigan, past an electronic barrier designed to keep the fish from entering the Great Lakes.
It's the first time such a fish has been found upriver of the electronic barrier, officials with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources confirmed. There is no barrier between where the fish was found and the mouth of Lake Michigan.

The story (& picture) is about a bighead carp but it talks about the ones that jump at the sound of motors which are the silvers, both are a menace but both may not be past the barrier ... yet.
Oh yeah slab of the year eh ? Looks like a major environmental problem to me. Boo the Carp and Bull trout pushed into the camera lens aren't much far behind em .. September was a farce !
I don't understand. Why can't we just net the bloody things and be done with it?
