Alexander Archipelago wolf
Sunday, March 24, 2013 at 12:00AM
Salmon are not the only species under threat in the Tongass.
Southeast Alaska is home to the Alexander Archipelago wolf, a subspecies of gray wolves. However this wolf is being blamed for low deer harvest in two specific areas: Gravina Island and the Lindenburg Peninsula. In a recent ADFG meeting, it was voted to eliminate (by trapping) wolves from these areas. this will not happen until 2014, during regular trapping season.

Would Mr Edwards be unemployed without a cause? Reminded me of my favorite bumper sticker of all time, or at least top three...
Welcome to Wyoming
Now take a wolf and go home
Unreal.....that they would try and wipe out a true indigenous wolf.
In portions of the Greater Yellowstone Area we protect a non ingenious wolf that was introduced in 1996 as a result of bad science. This super predator ( The Canadian Gray Wolf)) is responsible for the murders of two thirds of the indigenous Rocky Mountain elk in Yellowstone National Park. The Gray Wolf's genetic cousins that once inhabited the Greater Yellowstone Area were on average 40lbs smaller.
these people realize that ADF&G doesn't vote on or set regulations right?
WOLVES are like cigarettes, smoke a pack a day!!!!!!
