No!
KPLU scratches the surface in this report about wild steelhead making its way to the dining table.
Don't eat wild steelhead....period.

I am so glad that you shared this here. The more that this information gets put out into the general public venue the better. We can preach to each other all we like, but the general public has the power to make choices and decisions about the food that they eat, especially wild fish, on a scale that can change the industry, and the politics. When WDFW sent survey people out to malls and shopping areas, and asked the general public what they thought of what was happening to Washington's wild steelhead and salmon, the public resoundingly stated that we should not be fishing for them at all, much less eating them.
It's okay to eat hatchery steelhead. That's the life purpose of a hatchery fish, to end up on the dining room table. The whole purpose of a hatchery is to produce fish for food. All said, can't fault anyone for releasing a hatchery fish either. They are beautiful fish. Kevin Davis sounded remorseful for eating a hatchery steelhead and he shouldn't be but for the fact he didn't like the taste.
