The Bend Bulletin picks up on the Deschutes fish kill.
Hefting buckets, nets and an aerator, Kim Brannock and her family set out Friday morning to help stranded fish in a dwindling pool in a dry channel of the Deschutes River close to Bend.

I read this with some interest and deja vu. I grew up in Bend, left in '64 after HS. This lowering of the water was an annual event when I was a kid. We used to go just south of town and get stranded fish from the isolated 'ponds', and (it was the '50's) take them home. Some of the local sporting stores sold gigs at this time of year for just this.
Sorry it's still happening, after I grew up I started releasing fish and hope the best for the fishery. It was a great place to grow up and learn to fish.
Thank you. Your cool. Political bodies on their best day wish to kiss your ass,
