My admiration for James Prosek has just taken a giant leap forward. I was lucky enough to stumble on a first edition of "Trout, An Illustrated History" when it appeared in 1996. I have probably leafed through these beautiful watercolors 50 times at least, and on each occasion, imagining what it would be like to actually see some of the exotic varieties with my own eyes. The bad news is that most I will not see, but the good news is that Prosek's eyes are easily the next best thing. With his latest subjects I hope I have a greater chance, but if not, his eyes will work the same magic for me and I am sure many others. His unique style and absolute passion to capture the heart and soul of these great creatures, and all fish for that matter does make him our Audubon.
Thank you James Prosek. Hopefully the world will look before it is too late.
