These camera angles are getting out of hand.

I actually don't mind the camera angles that favor the fish. There are reasons other than making your fish look bigger for doing it (e.g., seeing the markings/colors/details of the fish better). God forbid people choose slab of the month on the basis of something other than pure size.

I don't mind the camera angles either, its about seeing the fish not the angler. If you think people are doing it to drastically increase the size of their catch, just look at the spacing between their hands. Or the size of their hands compared to the fish. Thats a pig!

I know where you caught that, everyone is finding out about that spot but there sure are some whales in there
+1, one hell of a fish

March 7, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterDTF

Is it me or does Lee send in a SOTM submission every month from that spot?

March 7, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterCO SLIMER

@shortarm Your right, I would not pick my nose with big digits!

March 7, 2012 | Unregistered Commentersay no to long arm

Hell yeah Lee! Nice Work! I need to make a trip back out to Colorado soon!

March 7, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterBlake

yeah guy what river is that? every single one of your submissions is from the exact same spot. i dont even care about the specifics. just a simple name. is it private water? regardless, very nice fish

I know Lee personally and you could ask him point blank where that is and he would not tell. He'll talk to you about technique, other places he fishes, but this is strictly forbidden to talk about. He will go on tell you it is a very fragile fishery one which he is trying to protect by shedding some light on it. There is a handful of people ruining it most of which are not fly fishermen, and it can only support less than a handful. He will also tell you that this fishery is about done because of one person who has basically told everyone in the fly fishing community. When I last talked to him he told me he had unsettled business with this fish and wanted to catch it before it ended up in some sniveling fools freezer. Looks like after numerous trips he finally got her. Congrats Lee I know you've been trying to get DOW to move on some issues in this locale. I hope you are successful. Oh and if I find it I'll honor your wishes to keep it a secret.

This place is private no doubt! For those of you who think differently get it out of your brain!

It is funny how people give no creedence to fishermen who simply know the art and are adept at catching big fish. Same spot really? It could be private, but get out and find out for yourself if it isn't. The beauty of the internet is that we can celebrate Colorado having fish this big. I live in Wyoming and I'm certain we ahve fish this big and much bigger here. I haven't seen any other fish from this same spot and I'm pretty certain this guy fishes all over the place. I found his website. Simply stated he catches big fish, long arms, or short arms, or no arms, I'd love to catch a fish this big, and certainly wouldn't be sharing the spot I caught it at if I did! Kudos Lee on one amazing rainbow trout.

It was a bad attempt at a pun, guys. I can't help myself. Just trying to foreground an important issue.

It's obviously, incontestably a gorgeous, SOTM-worthy fish. Size should be irrelevant, especially in the age of triploids and senile broodstock. As long as the fish is being treated respectfully, I couldn't care less where it is being held. Nor should anyone else. Which was kind of my point. At least, that's what I was thinking when I let my sarcasm do the typing.

I've fished with Lee Roy that dude sees fish like nobody's business. Nice Job buddy!

March 7, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterBonefisher

Nice Bow, but a truck trout none the less, tail is all rounded off!

Great fish! Too bad about the Moldy Comments, Moldy.

March 7, 2012 | Unregistered Commenterwait4it

People with big hands have small dicks

March 8, 2012 | Unregistered Commenterbadass999

Nice fish, but next time could you do without the arms stretched out and camera pointed up stuff. I'd like to be able to notice and appreciate the fish's size without having to spend 10min staring at the space in between your hands. I honestly can't tell if that fish is 25 or 35 inches.

March 8, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterLTJ

Nice fish. The shot would be better with a Gammy finger condom ;)

March 8, 2012 | Unregistered Commentertofo

People who post hate anonymously have no balls! LTJ the fish was 31" long by 17" girth. I saw a post on another website! It's a slabber no matter how you perceive it! Get over yourself guys!

i dont understand as to why nasy comments must be made on here. as a native of colorado, who has fished around the country for numerous fish species, must say that for those of you making those comments have never been here. so dont bash anything unless you know for a fact. secondly, just because its big does not mean its on private water. in fact most coloradoans do in fact fish public lands, most of us do not own river front. so before you make ignorant and rude comments, why dont you just check yourselves and get off a high horse. we are all fellow man, so lets treat each other like it. nice colorado bow buddy!!!!
