Proposed California Striped Bass Regs Shot Down

Striper Rise art by Mike Savlen

Remember those shitty new striped bass regulations California Fish and Game was proposing?

In a unanimous decision, Commissioners voted not to pursue a proposal that would have changed sport fishing regulations related to anadromous striped bass, including increasing bag limits and decreasing size limits.

Way to go California! Keep forcing out the natives and force your wishes on the public to keep the non-natives going strong!

Oh yeah... and the fish too. Invasive striped bass don't belong in the delta, but get the science right before instituting regulations.

A 12 inch minimum with a 6 fish bag limit doesn't sound like much, but it's insane on the east coast (where the fish belong).
