Wow, anyone who hates on carp probably can't or hasn't tried to catch one. I just really dislike carp. And yes I have caught soooooo many.. Here in ny we have an ice cream shop that's located directly on the erie canal(Most Disgusting body of water). And these carp are hand fed all day long by children who can't finish their ice cream cone..
So at first I started just throwing a tiny bit of ice cream cone on hook and chumming the water with pieces of cone.. SLAUGHTER FEST!! Yes, Right now I'm admitting to using bait. But then I started tying up "cone patterns" hahahahha.
It is fun hearing your drag zing but I would just much rather catch a steely/brown/brookie/ Or EVEN a bass..

Feel the love. Years ago I was afraid to fly fish because when I would walk into a fly shop I'd hear discussions in this (general) spirit and wanted nothing to do with it. Once I figured out that there were people out there who supported growing the sport and all the good things that come with it I started fishing for trout, then bass, then carp... any fish any time.
