Biologists say there's only one way the bass could have ended up in the reservoir—someone with a bucketful of bass put them there

The DWR, the Stonefly Society of the Wasatch and Utah Trout Unlimited are offering a reward of up to $7,000 to the person who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons who put white bass in the Deer Creek Reservoir.

Some of the planted bass planted have been found in the Provo.

so someone who has potentially endangered an invasive introduced species by illegally stocking a native non present species could be fined or worse? Do 3 wrongs make a right? no, but 2 wrongs might. Get rid of the stinky RT - keep the WB! Save the White Bass One!

More than likey they were put in there by DNR. Hatcheries are clueless what's in some of there holding ponds. One week it was bass next week it's trout. Makes since to me. White bass like cold water as well. I could see a pond not completely cleaned out of one species before another is introduced. They pump out the trout with a few bass to mix. Another scenario conservation truck was not dumped out before it was loaded with trout. TU is so quick to blame allot of things. Utardia is very capable to do somthing Utarded. They woud never admit it if it was the case. I am more more look at other organizations instead of TU. Like Federation of fly fishers. Save the brookie & such.

How about some NZ mud snails or some algae that would bloom really nice there, or better yet Asian Carp. invasive species suck no matter how you look at it.

Is there a chance they migrated up the mighty provo? Just kidding.

Seriously, there are already massive numbers of carp in that puddle - is having white bass gonna make it any worse?

Really, Utards? That's getting so old. Have any of you ever thought that this possibly was done illegally??? Not to mention these fish were caught at the mouth of one of the best trout streams in the US? Do you really think the UDWR would intentionally introduce white bass into a system like the middle Provo knowing the potential problem that might arise? No wonder they are so concerned.
