February Slab of the Month Entry - Rio Gallegos Seatrout
Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at 12:02AM
Say Cheese!
El Paskador sent us this shot of Loop pro staffer Diego "Pollo" Coscia on his day off. No one has ever seen a seatrout this large taken on the Rio Gallegos.

That thing is a toad!!!!!!
Why the long face buddy- did the big one get away?
Great fish! Private or Public land?
BLAZAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
...denizen of the deep...
smile!
Classic shock n' hog daze. Beast, she is.
That thing looks photoshopped.
Nothing to smile about thats for sure...
it looks like one of those pillows from walmart
Nie fish nonetheless, but who gives a fuck about that fish..Loop along with other Estancias has all the premo land locked down down there, so unless you are spoonfed or have 5 plus k to drop then that shit is out. Thats why he has such a long face, its another day at the office not appreciating what you have, or have access to.
Hey Slab, You must be kidding.. You need to get out more often.. I am fishing the free zone this evening.. Nothing worse then the uninformed making statements as if they are actually know something... Every Estancia is required to provide free access to the locals, and the water available towards town is amazing and accessible by vehicle.
GREAT FISH. I fished the RG last year on my own. Struggled to find some water the first few days, but we met a local who helped us a ton. Never saw any fish like this but managed to land a few over 15. The local brown trout on the RG are worth the trip IMO. Speaking spanish is a big help if you attempt a DIY trip.
The Rio Gronde has bigger fish, but we had harder time finding access and also had to use heavy tips and big flies.
tiger woods did him
el paskador, you dont happen to have a picture of the other side of that fish do you? i know this sounds really stupid but i swear that is the same fish i landed last year on the gallegos, just a couple pounds heavier....
Slab and JFwells appear to be a little envious. some day you'll get your chance too. in the mean time, shut the fuck up and quit bitching
You're a funny man, RO!!! Nice!
Attack,,,, The photos are from that same side, but I'll ask Pollo if there was any marks on the other side. I presume there was a sort of mark or other imperfection that you can identify?
I know that the fish don't travel far in to the salt, so its possible that fish continued to EAT.. Did you weigh your fish from last season?
Headed out to battle the 100k winds this afternoon..
That is one truly fantastic brown trout. But you don't have to spend thousands to get a fish like that. Just come to New York in the fall....on second thought, maybe you should spend thousands to go to places like that, plus I just remembered we don't have fish like that here in New York.
Peskador, Please explain how my American ass would be considered a local? Maybe the Rio Gallegos does have a little public access near town, but it will soon follow the Grande with next to no access.
I will second you on NY, but Argentina is a true experience worth the cash to travel there. But NY is a poor mans big trout spot
Brian that second statement above applied to you not Peskador...
Slab please stay out another 20min or so. Your Mom wants a round two.
Momma jokes are hilarious lets hear another dumb ass!
A dumb ass is someone who shits all over someones fish of a lifetime while Tiger Woods is upstairs nailing his hot Mom in the mouth with his fat headed driver.
F*ucking douche!!!!!!!!!!!
That fish has been bonked! Tell me if I am wrong.
