The Utah Stream Access Coalition Sues Over Stream Access

Eight months after the governor gave life to a law that restricts the public’s access to Utah’s rivers and streams, a group has made a push to get back to the water’s edge.

The Utah Stream Access Coalition, a nonprofit group created to preserve public access to the state’s waterways, filed a lawsuit Friday challenging the constitutionality of Public Waters Access Act, which was passed by the Legislature in 2010.

What a disgusting turn on the public that is !! Landowners get more right to public lands than the public does.... disgusting
We're in the midst of similar action here in Colorado, courtesy of Gov. Ritter who proposes to permit access to private water to rafters, guides, rafting companies.... leaving 99 % of the rest of us in the cold without access. Seems everywhere, revenue is king and you are out.

Good thing Idaho is keeping to it's "Public Waterways" in the State Constitution ... otherwise there would be a lot of Politicians out of a job!

Being a fly fisherman and a Utah resident, no one knows better than I how cozy the state beaurocrats and good old boy land owners are. Hell even our govenor knows how to ring the money out of public lands, he just bought his re election. I wish Utah stream access all the luck, they will need it with these guys.
