Sue em or Stew em - Two Ways to Stop Asian Carp

Stop Asian Carp is a project of Michigan Attorney General Mike Cox. Cox is suing the Army Corp. and the State of Illinois to close the locks that provide the last barrier keeping the carp out of the Great Lakes. Sign the on-line petition urging the Congress and the President to force the Army Corp. to close the locks.
If you can't beat em....eat em!
Asian carp may be a problem in the Great Lakes, but in Louisiana they are renaming it silver fin and promoting it as a delicacy. Chef Philippe Parola says the Asian carp's texture is a cross between scallop and crabmeat, adding its bones can be removed easily by steaming.

I still dunno that I'd eat carp. But I've wondered why they haven't done a bounty. Has worked (too) well in OR and WA with controlling the Northern Pikeminnow.
I've eaten one; they taste awesome as long as you don't know what you're eating!
Perfect, now we have something to do with them. I'm sure if Americans don't want to eat them ship them all down to Haiti to the starving people.
It's rather ironic that people would reject eating big head and silver carp based on their appearence, when most people never see the animals they eat, whole or alive. Flatfishes such as flounder and halibut are very popular, but would never win a beauty contest. Developing a commercial fishery and market for these carp species would be a useful means of controlling populations where they are already introduced, however, it is critical that we keep these species from being introduced into other systems, such as the Great Lakes.
One could catch them, grind them up and feed them to farmed salmon
