Sept Slab of the Month Entry: Deschutes Redside
Monday, September 14, 2009 at 12:00AM
Michael Stark joins the Sept. SOTM contest with strong Redside. Lots of opinions as to when a redside is actually steel and visa versa. Discussion, as always, is welcome.

I'll say this much these rainbows fight harder then any other ive caught .As for them being steelhead unless they have gone to the ocean ,they are just a super beautiful rainbow !
Sorry dude. It's a steelhead. Not only that, it's a standard carbon copy deschutes steelhead.
pretty fish, but I'd put down money that says this fish won't crack 8% for sotm. unless there is some acorn style ballot stuffing.
steel - over 20" is a steelhead
people who post hate can eat shit
Thanks guys, good and bad. : P It is no steelie, unless that steelie has wings to get over Round Butte Dam, and all the little impassable irrigation dams in Bend as it was caught upstream of ANY access to the ocean. I know I have no chance for SOTM glory this month.... Guess I should hand the rod back to my daughter! : D
Beauty fish man!
Ha Ha Ha. I cought that brown up there too a few days before that, and it made it on this website too. And I think those are my boots in the back ground. VERY NICE FISH, but funny to hear the conversation about the Steelhead but I don't quite think so. Tom took a good picture.
Nice bow! I like the long slender fish myself, seems they have a need to jump and fight harder than the fat lazy ones. great fish
Nice fish. Hate the shorts.
killer fish. the shorts comment is pretty funny
