Abel Refurbish Service

Abel can now strip the existing finish on a reel and restore it from dings, scratches, scrapes and the ravages of time.
Additionally, Abel now has the ability to change an existing older black reel to any desired color or fish graphic, announced Don R. Swanson, president of the California tackle manufacturer.

Yeah....
A little paint, some baling wire, chewing gum, sand out the scratches, a little duct tape, change the look, wait till the dust settles.
No one will ever remember it's former life.
Sounds eerily familiar.
nothing better than paying for the same reel twice!
I wonder what response I get, if I send my old Tibor to them to give nice paint job.
Who want's a pretty reel anyway? For every dent, ding, scratch, rub there's a memory. I used to have my name engraved on my Abel reels. Most are so beat up now, that you can't even tell. It's not art, it's a tool.
A reel is only designed to hold the line. Who cares if it looks pretty or is pricey. The most important equipment for fly fishing is the line.
