There is no business to be done on a dead planet

Three Dollar Bridge from felt soul on Vimeo.

Felt Soul Media has produced another gem. Check out this 3 minute profile on 1% For the Planet,
an alliance of businesses that donate at least 1% of their annual
revenues to environmental organizations worldwide. Founded by Yvon Chouinard and Craig Matthews,
1% has grown to over 1000 members since it's launch in 2002 and has
donated nearly $42 million to approved environmental non-profits. This
particular film highlights the Three Dollar Bridge (Madison River)
project that was made possible by 1% funds. The two founding members
tell the story.

Outstanding video and message. You can't fake it. These guys get the job done. Can't wait to drop some serious change in Blue Ribbon when I make my maiden journey to Yellowstone in September

It is a great program that they have started but I think the video is a little misleading. The effort to purchase the 1700 acre Olliffe Ranch property was very much a collabrative effort by many different business's, conservation organizations, federal and state agencies as well as private individuals who donated money to the purchase of the easement. I applaud Craig and Yvon for their giving but I hope that other fine people and organizations such as Montana FW&P, the Nature Conservancy, Trust for Public Lands, TU, FFF, Montana Wildlife Federation, Montana's congressional delegation and private citizens get just as much credit for the aquistion of the property. We should all be thankful when this many organizations can come together to insure everyone's access to a great resource such as the Three Dollar Bridge.

Here is a link to how it all happened for anyone who is interested.www.montanawildlife.com/publications/archives/Aug%202006%20Three%20Dollar.doc -
