State of Alaska sues over Pebble Mine initiative

The state of Alaska has filed suit to invalidate the results of a voter initiative that could stop the Pebble Mine.

"This case is not about state support for or against a Pebble Mine project," Attorney General John Burns said in a statement. "It is about upholding the state's constitutional authority and responsibility to evaluate whether, on balance, development of Alaska's resources is beneficial to all Alaskans...... and because we don't give a shit about the people that actually live there.
