Fly Fishing Patents : Fishing line accessory systems, methods, and apparatuses

Fishing line accessory systems, methods, and apparatuses for securing strike indicators, bobbers, floats, weights, and other accessories to a fishing line include a primary coupling component and a secondary threaded coupling component. At least one of the coupling components has a gap defined therein. At least one of the coupling components has at least one fishing accessory connected or connectable thereto. The secondary coupling component is matable with the primary coupling component such that the gap is obstructed when the coupling components are in a mating relationship. A fishing line that is captured by the coupling components in an adjustably secure relationship can be adjusted without completely disengaging the threaded coupling components.

Fly fishing method and apparatus

A hook-less fly crafted on a core other than a hook is described for attachment to a line at a material distance from a distal circle hook. One or more fly(s) may be attached to a single line at a point above a single circle hook. The separation on the line of hook from fly requires only the fly to enter the fish's mouth. The hook, when a fish takes the fly, is externally located. Striking the rod in response to the fish taking the fly draws the line through the fish's mouth and engages the distally located circle hook into the outer jaw.

A fly fishing device for feeding and reeling fly line to and from a rod held by a fisherman, comprising a line reel for reeling in the fly line, The line reel including a frictionally controlled line spool, a driver coupled to the line spool for actuation by the fisherman a support coupled to the line reel for holding the line reel under one of the fishermans upper arms while fishing: said line reel including an electric motor, frictionally connected to the line spool, a switch on the motor driving the line spool for initiation by the fisherman.

A fly fishing leader carrier designed to retreivably store a plurality of fishing leaders on the back of a fisherman. The fishing leader carrier includes an elongated rectangular fishing leader holder which has a number of stretchable elastic loops and an equal number of parallel slots designed to hold under tension an equal number of fishing leaders.
