Heavy Metal

Nic Jooste's sculptures are life-size, three dimensional pieces, either free standing on a variety of different bases or wall-mounted. He works with copper, bronze, aluminium and stainless steel. Bases are available in driftwood, Australian red gum and metal water splashes.

I was turned on to the fish sculptures of Jose Daniel Rojales while visting Leland Fly Fishing Outfitters in San Francisco. This permit sculpture is on display in the store along with a bonefish and dorado. LINK

Plastiquarium

The Plastiquarium is immersed in mystery. Modern myth suggests that a century of increasing phosphate levels in Earth's marine environment caused new, synthetic life forms to emerge. As recyclable HDPE plastic containers spread concentrates of consumer product pollutants, the Plastiquarium creatures evolved in the image of their packaging forbearers. LINK

Formula One Fish

 

Alastair Gibson spent fourteen years as lead mechanic for the Benetton Formula One team and ten as race team chief mechanic for the BAR Honda Team.

Drawing similarities between modern Grand Prix cars and game fish, Alastair undertook a series of sculptures using F1 parts and technology to show these unique fish in a different form.
