All welding is done with no jigs. Next, the sculpture is cleaned and ready for finish and two coats of clearcoat is applied to protect the custom patinas.

Trout Dreams
The first in Mike Savlen's new Liquid Color series.
In this series I have decided to forego detail and sharp lines keeping the fish almost abstract or dreamy in appearance and concentrating more in large open color masses. I have purposely left out the surface reflections to simplify these paintings as much as possible and also to focus more on the emotional response I feel when I see a vibrant beautiful flash from a fish just under the surface.
Stuart Littlefield Steel Fish Sculpture
Working in the open air of his Block Island studio, Stuart cuts each fish by hand, using an artisanal method that dates back to 1900.
Fish and Fishing Art Competition
Fish and Fishing have been key to life on the Oregon Coast. The Coos Art Museum sponsored an art competition and artists were challenged to submit works based on those themes. From 182 submissions the jurors selected 70 works for display. Works in many media are on view at the museum and demonstrate the broadest range of interpretations of the theme.
