I generally appreciate and respect all that Yvon has to say and do for the environment but I can't help but point out the hypocrisy in Patagonia's "Simple Fly Fishing" campaign as of late. There is a lot of preaching about simplicity and reducing excess, however the fly fishing set ups they sell still cost close to $300 when it's all said and done. For much less money you can get a complete set up from Redington or Echo and you get a reel! Both are made overseas in Asia just like Patagonia's. Not really sure how eliminating the reel all while wearing $500 waders and a $200 vest is keeping it simple. Maybe the message is "Spend More, Get Less".
