It's why they named it the Environmental PROTECTION Agency
Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at 12:00AM
Today, U.S. Sen. David Vitter (R-La.), top Republican on the Environment and Public Works Committee, along with Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W. Va.) introduced a bill that would strip the Environmental Protection Agency of its power to block mining permits under the Clean Water Act.
The Regulatory Fairness Act of 2014 would give American businesses a fair shot at going through the process of building or mining without having to worry about politics getting in the way,” Vitter said in a statement.
In other words it would prevent the EPA from blocking the Pebble Mine.

Also being considered under the clean water act is what is being called a land grab by the E.P.A.
Any water way is now being considered part of the U.S. Waterway system. Therefore if you have a private pond the EPA under this act will no be in charge of it. I am not a big fan of this law. Fine reduce mining but let me keep my land.
What a bunch of assholes. Have none of these pinheads ever considered what happens when you can't drink the freakin' water? Oh yeah, as a footnote: it sucks for fish too, and the long term sustainable jobs provided by clean water and a healthy ecosystem..
