What the Pluck?

Conventional down is a scary business.
To ensure the humane treatment of birds that supply Patagonia with down, as of fall 2014 Patagonia uses only 100% Traceable Down. They trace it from farm to factory to make sure the birds that supplied it were never force-fed or live-plucked, and that the down is never blended with down from sources they can’t trace. The Traceable Down Standard provides the highest assurance of animal welfare in the apparel industry so you can stay warm in good conscience.

What yuppy horseshit. There's no ethical way to kill an animal for its meat, feathers or fur. Luckily there doesn't need to be. Animals aren't capable of coming up with ethics or living by an ethical code. Only humans are. And humans make use of plants and animals, thus giving them value -- another thing only humans can create. I shouldn't have to explain this on a forum dedicated to the sport of tricking fish into eating feathers in order to impale them on a hook and drag them through the water - all for the enjoyment of humans. Humanity is underated
