The Angling Company- Line Slip

Line slip is a cool technique that bracing allows you to cut a false cast out of your presentation to a moving fish.

Just one of a host of instructional shorts from The Angling Company.

So a "Brace" is simply a haul? Why let line "slip" through your left hand, losing power as he says, when you can lift the line off the water using a single haul creating increased line speed, let an additional 20' shoot on either the back or forward cast and get the same result?
One stroke back and one stroke forward with an extra 20' and no awkward 'half-stroke' on the back cast.
I really did appreciate seeing a warm place however. It's going to be -27 at home here tonight.
