there have been zero days in december in mt this year where it was warm enough to do that. in fact, there have been more days below zero then above....

I was lucky to get that shot, it was a quick self portrait before i let him go. Measured only against my pole, it was 28 inches give or take a 1/4 in... I agree, close to the camera but not to shabby for a selfy.
Look at his right hand and compare its size to the fins. Each fin is about the size of the palm of the hand, this thing is a DePuy's monster!!!!

Don't listen to the haters dude. Hell of a fish regardless of how the photo was taken. I would much rather see a photo of a fish at that angle than a photo of a fish getting held like a cat.
