100% with ya there. One of the few times that John Gierach missed the mark was his statement "You can't trust a guy who brings a dog fishing." Depends on the dog (and the guy for that matter). Billie rolls fishing with me everywhere I am legally allowed to have her, stays back on the shore and waits for me to finish working a run or goes off and scouts the perimeter, then waits patiently on the nearest boulder for a portage across the stream. Condolences brother.
