I'm sure most of you remember Ryan Peterson's video One in Winter. Well Ryan penned a piece to go along with the video for Patagonia's The Cleanest Line and it brilliantly captures the essence of fly fishing for winter run steelhead.

Or you could fish rivers outside WA and actually catch them and actually realize they are just another awesome fish. Part of this crazy fascination and drive is because of the "game" many of you are playing with yourselves. This is just a fish. In time you will catch plenty and be "all good". I know rivers in BC that my 90 year old gma could catch a steelhead on a swing fly right now. She wouldn't exhibit any of the behavior a steelhead fly fisher supposedly has.......Pay some dues and get real y'all......
