One In Winter

Whether it be The Season, Eastern Rises, The Big Pull, or The Kamchatka Steelhead Project, Ryan Peterson has played a starring role in some of the genre's most soulful media.
Here is the lead in on his latest effort.
A couple seasons ago I swapped fly rod for camera and followed my friend, Rich Zellman as he cast for winter-run steelhead. Over countless days, eye traced rod's path, over and over again. And over again.
This is what came of that effort.
Enjoy.

Finally, somebody gets the whole "film" thing right. Minimal dialogue, tells a story, leaves me thinking at the end. That was awesome.
unreal, best "steelhead" movie ever made.
zellman is one soulful badass.
Sometimes you stumble upon someone's words that have echoed in your own head waiting to come out. This was it for me. Wonderful feeling.
That was waaay solid.
Some of the best steelheading moments ever caught on film. Bravo!
what a great vid. just enough to satisfy and great images
Wow. Might as well quit making fish videos now.
Wow! This reminds me of the film where the hero dies at the end. No fish to hand...just like real life at times. Thanks.
This is one of the BEST I've seen!!
Good film as West side Steve points out.
However, it's ironic that it was filmed in 'The State of Jefferson' and on the same page there's a story about the political shenanigans in Siskiyou County. The fools who run Siskiyou County are the same fools who proclaim it to be 'The State of Jefferson'.
4/10
expected more. a lot more
Beautifully done. The song used in video captures the feeling of the hours of solitude and silence that are broken by the momentary chaos of catching a steelhead on the swing.
this one is awesome very well done ,maybe one of the best videos so far
I had the privilege to have Rich as a guide on the North Umpqua 2 years ago...Amazing guy. Best line of the trip was...
Andy: "What did I do wrong with that cast?"
Rich: "Any number of things..."
