From fishbeer
This is a look at boat maker and fly fishing guide Phil Croff. Phil lives in the northern lower peninsula of Michigan. He builds drift boats out of cedar that are designed to float the small and fast rivers of northern Michigan. He likes fishing for big brown trout at night using mouse flies. He catches some very big fish.
Stay tuned for a 35 minute version with a lot more on the boats, the fish, the rivers, and on Phil himself.

Mousing is Michigan is tough, fun, scary, frustrating, and great all at the same time. And that river he's talking about is an angry bitch for sure. Love to see movies from Michigan; it's got more to offer than most think, but don't tell anyone...
I've had the chance to fish a river in N. Mich with Phill a few times. He's a true artist and want's his clients and others to experience the thrill of fighting a 30" fish on a small medium river. He truly practices cath and release and is a great example of a selfless person. His boats are like no others, and will turn heads every time.
